“The earth is the universal ground for all we do. Without a strong, rooted foundation, little else can be accomplished. Our bodies must be firm enough to provide stability, yet yielding enough to be penetrated by roots, by rooted energy.” -Anodea Judith

Roots of Support’s Mission:

Our mission is to offer gentle and compassionate support for you on your healing journey and to empower you to find relief, restore balance and feel better – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Roots of Support – The meaning behind the name:

In the Indian Yogic system there are seven energy centers that exist within each of us called chakras. The chakras are also known as “wheels” stacked in a column of energy from the base of our spine to the top of our head. They take us on an evolutionary journey to connect us with our true nature.

The Sanskrit name for the first chakra is Muladhara or ‘Root Support’. This chakra roots us with our bodies, the world around us and with the Earth. It is our foundation and issues associated with this chakra are; our bodies, survival, nourishment, health, roots, grounding, trust, home, family, prosperity and appropriate boundaries.

Yoga, literally translate as ‘yoke’ or to come together. In yoga we come together with ourselves- our bodies, our breath, our thoughts and emotions and we come together with something larger than ourselves, our connection to spirit and to our divine nature.

When we are disconnected from the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual we have dis-ease, which can lead to pain, fatigue, illness and disease.
